PLATFORM WORKFLOW

Task Description: Create, Edit and Delete a Sequence

Objective: To show Organization Admins and Users how to create, edit and delete a sequence

Organization: All

System Permission Level: System Admin/User and Organization Admin/User

Step 1

Go to www.growthpowersuite.com and click the green Login button.

Step 2

Enter your username and password then click the blue Login button.

Step 3

Click on your Organization (if you are in multiple organizations). If you are only in one, you will begin on the Dashboard.

Step 4

Click on the Automation tab on the Module Menu Panel and select the Sequences sub-tab.

Step 5

On the Sequences page, click the Add New Sequence button located at the top-right corner of the page.

Step 6

In the Add New Sequence dialog box, enter a name for the sequence and optionally select a folder to store the new sequence. Then, click the Save button to proceed to the sequence configuration page.

NOTE: To create a folder to organize your sequence, refer to the Create a Folder in Sequences guide.

Step 7

Next, you’ll be taken to the Sequence Configuration screen. On the left side, you’ll configure the sequence settings. Let’s break down each field and its purpose:

Sequence Name: Assign a name to your sequence.

Custom Time: Define specific times when the sequence should be active.

Users: Choose which user(s) will appear as the sender for messages in this sequence.

  • NOTE: If no user is selected, the sequence will be sent from the organization email. If multiple users are selected, one will be randomly chosen to send the sequence.

Next Sequence: Select another sequence to follow the current one.

From Address: Manually set the sender name and email for outgoing messages.

  • NOTE: If both a From Address and a user are selected, the sequence will use the From Address and ignore the selected user. If neither a user nor a From Address is set, and you use User Custom Values in the sequence, the values will be pulled from the user who created the sequence.

Tags: Apply the selected tag(s) to recipients when the sequence runs.

Event Start Date: Set a start date/time if tied to an event; leave blank if not.

Allow Multiple: Enable if the sequence can be triggered multiple times for the same recipient.

Stop on Response: If enabled, the contact who responds will be removed from this sequence only.

  • IMPORTANT: For toggle fields, Grey means Off and Blue means On.

Step 8

On the right side, you’ll add events to your sequence. Click the blue Add Event button to get started. Below is a breakdown of each event type:

SMS: Send a text message to the recipient. You can write your own message or select a prewritten SMS template.

Messenger: Send a message through Facebook Messenger. This only works if your organization is integrated with Facebook.

Email: Deliver an email using the selected sender information. You can write your own email or select a prewritten email template.

Voicemail: Drop a pre-recorded voicemail to the recipient’s inbox.

Call: Trigger an outbound call using your configured system.

Wait: Insert a delay before the next event is triggered.

Add Task: Create a task for your contact to complete.

Webhook: Send data to an external system via a configured webhook.

Step 9

Once you’ve selected and configured your event, the next step is to set its Event Timing. This determines when the event will be triggered in the sequence. You can choose from three timing options:

  • Immediate: The event will run right away. No additional timing input is needed.
  • Before: The event will run before a fixed date and time, which can be set using the Event Start Date field on the left side of the screen.
    • You can add multiple "Before" events, but they should be ordered from earliest to latest (e.g., the farthest event goes first in the sequence).
    • We recommend using only "Before" timing types in a sequence when Event Start Date is set. Avoid mixing with "After" to ensure reliable delivery.
  • After: The event will run after the event directly before it. This does not require an Event Start Date and is commonly used when sending a sequence of actions with built-in delays.

If you choose “Before” or “After,” you’ll enter a number and select the unit of time (minutes, hours, or days) to control the delay. Each event's timing is independent and customizable, allowing you to create flexible schedules throughout the sequence.

Step 10

Once the sequence is configured, use the dropdown above your events to change the status from Draft to Active. You can also save the sequence as a Draft if you’d like to continue editing it later.

NOTE: If the sequence remains in Draft, it won’t appear as an option when adding users to a sequence.

Step 11

Finally, click the Save button to save the sequence.

Step 12

If a folder was selected during sequence creation, the sequence will appear inside that folder. If no folder was selected, it will appear at the top of the sequence list, below your folders.

Step 13

To edit the sequence, click the sequence name. This will take you to the Sequence Configuration page.

Step 14

To move the sequence to a folder, click the kebab icon (three vertical dots) next to the sequence and select Move to Folder from the menu. A dialog box will appear where you can select a folder from the dropdown menu.

Step 15

To delete a sequence, click the trash can icon next to the sequence. A confirmation dialog box will appear. Follow the instructions to complete the deletion.
